Care of Cobalt Plating

Although Cobalt is incredibly durable, corrosion resistant, and self lubricating, ALL metals (including plating metals) are susceptible to oxidation (chemical breakdown due to reaction with atmospheric oxygen gas) to some degree.  I warranty my work for 1 full year to be free of defects in materials used or workmanship, but to ensure that your Cobalt finish is long lasting and stays as attractive as possible, I suggest that…

1. The weapon is well maintained and properly lubricated as necessary.

2. The exterior finish is wiped down with a commercial protectorant (such as Birchwood Casey’s Sheath) after each cleaning.

These simple steps will help to ensure that your Cobalt finish will be long lasting and stay as attractive as possible.  I hope you are pleased with my work and will be happy to assist you in any way I can.
